Our Starting Story

The Color Monkey started as a passion project by us. We noticed the big burden, both in terms of time and effort, to create custom-colored image patterns for children to recreate. Finding or making a blank pattern, printing it multiple times and manually coloring it and even its digital counterpart where you each time have to select a specific color per cell over and over again, it's a hell of work!! Moreover, what's more to like than being able to color the images of your own liking instead of those boring standard block patterns?

That is why we decided to create a tool that would allow you to do just that! Initially we developed a simple offline tool just for ourselves, but it quickly became clear to us that many others could potentially benefit from it as well.

Our Mission

We are on a mission to share the wonderful capabilities of computers, servers, bits&bytes and automation to everyone. Long gone are the times that you needed an hour of your precious time to create a silly 30 color patterns!

With the company LetMeCodeThat, that was founded amongst others for this very project, we began building the Color Monkey web platform. In this fashion we hope to be able to let the initial tool evolve from a simple offline tool for us into a platform that can be used by many people - from passionate teachers over devoted parents to enthousiastic therapists.

Stan Vincke

Stan is a researcher and self-taught developer with a passion for automation, efficiency and coding. He is the techinical mastermind behind the project.

Lara Vanham

Lara works as a teacher and has a passion for education and children. She is the one who came up with the idea of a digital coloring tool.
